let's know how to create partitions in windows and I suppose that you can manage partitions very well in windows, so I'm telling you, only about the partition in windows than other OS.
so, simply in windows press CTRL+X and click on disk management, you can also open using run dialogue box by typing diskmgmt.msc, there are many ways. So, follow the procedure
1) Right click on the largest partition or if you are opening the first time then right click on C drive and simply click on shrink volume
2) Now enter the size of your portion, and shrink, after shrinking an unallocated free space will be created in disk management
3) Now your partition will be unallocated and you can use to install OS or create a new volume to use it as normal storage. you can also use to extend other existing partitions.
EXTEND:- So to extend partition right click on other running partition and you will find extend option, then simply click next-next and unallocated space will be used in extending partition.
NEW VOLUME:- You can use the unallocated partition as normal storage by right click on it and click on the new simple disk and simply hit enter-enter until the process will complete.
