Welcome to 1M-ideas
let's know how to safely install a OS with preinstalled OS or how to dual boot
but I want to tell you that, you can also install os in your bootable stick and it will be handy if you want to use your os in any other computer, and your data will be saved in bootable stick each time your surf your OS, but for this, you should use at least 16GB storage which has good read/write speed and suggest to install linux OS in it
if you don't know how to create bootable stick, click here to know, I had given almost every possible way and easy steps to create bootable stick.
so let's start
A)Windows:-
if you are a windows user then follow this method
press CTRL+X and select disk management
if you don't know how to create or manage storage partition in windows click here
when disk management is opened, see how the partitions are held, probably C drive has most of space in the partition group, if partition has shrunk then select the largest storage space drive and shrink it and for most usages of OS, shrink between 80-100GB, or higher/lower(atleast 35GB) you can shrink, and keep it as unallocated
example screenshots are given below
that's half work done
next step is that, you need a bootable stick, I used parrot OS because it's good
enough with features rather than other OS, you can try others in this way, but I recommend for parrot os.
turn off your computer and insert the bootable stick and turn on and the bootable stick OS interface will run to install in system i.e. storage if somehow it doesn't run then again turn off and press the power button and quickly press ESC button to enter in bios framework when bios opened press F9
and select boot from usb-generic-storage in boot devices option.
now installation interface will open you can try in live mode and install after taking a look, you will find install on pressing windows button then search install on top, process and GUI will same, which i'm providing in this method, so i'm directly installing it
so when interface opened select install:
then select install with GTK GUI
next, you will have to choose a language, select it
next, select your country
next, select your keyboard input preference
next, set up root user and normal user name and password
next, select use the largest free space and it automatically detects the unallocated space and start installing on it
after this your OS will install successfully
so your boot system will recognize it alternatively and when you press power button, sometimes it opens parrotos boot loader some times windows boot loader but you can find to boot in windows while booting parrot os and also choose to boot in your favaroite system by bios mode then press F9 then select parrot os drive section to boot in parrot os.
that's it.
B) in Bootable stick:-
to install os in bootable stick all the procedure will same but when you have to choose option of installing os in disk you can choose
choose entire disk then select carefully the option of your sd card or in manual selection select usb storage where space of sd card will also given, simply select it and finish partition and install on it, its done, and all the process will same and when your installation copmlete you can bootup with usb, when your are bootin through your usb you can't unplugged it because os is on sd card so it will be crashed but will fine again when you insert it.
C)in LINUX:-
sipmly create a storage partition and keep it allocated using disk management os linux system and all procedure will same some screenshots of Ubuntu are here for help
that is for partion help and all the process are quite similar for most OS, any queries or problems can be raise in the comment section.
